Are we scared to leave it all behind? Yes and no. We both love our careers and it’s very hard to imagine working for any other employers. But to put it simply, Austin is not a city where we can see ourselves living for the rest of our lives. We both want to escape the humid climate, and our families do not live nearby, so the decision has become clear that we need to relocate soon.
Instead of investing thousands of dollars to fly across the country for job interviews, we’ve decided it’ll be easier to find a job once we’re in our new city. We will both be keeping up with medical CE’s so that we can have our certifications valid when we come home. This is essentially the perfect time in our lives to travel and we have the money saved. We have to live the lives that we've dreamt of, or watch it slowly pass us by…
We're also hoping that this adventure will open some new doors in life. We will always want to go back to being Mr. Firefighter and Mrs. Nurse, but this break will allow us to get some creativity flowing and discover some new talents and interests that could help us make more money later in life.
