What does your family think about all this?

Well everyone thought that we were crazy or joking...about three months before we quit our jobs they finally realized that we were serious and of course they tried to persuade us to give up.  We've received mixed responses, and obviously several people are concerned and completely against the idea.

We went through some family interrogations and discussions about safety, but we had already done months of research. Once they realized how much thought we had put into this adventure and all of our preparations, we eventually won their support. We’ve found that the more questions they ask, the more at ease they feel about the “what-if” scenarios.  Eventually the pessimism turned into "that's so cool" or "I wanna go!".

We've encouraged the skeptics to ask as many questions as possible.  This gives us a chance to hear other concerns that we haven't thought about yet, and helps us plan for the worst case scenarios.
